BE A RIDE LEADER

RIDE LEADERS ARE THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL TEAM

Our sport isn’t played on a field. It’s lived in the mountains. With 200+ athletes across miles of trail, safety and growth depend on committed adults riding alongside them. Ride Leaders create structure, model respect, and lead with intention. Without them, safe and successful practices aren’t possible.

WE NEED RIDE LEADERS OF EVERY SKILL LEVEL AND ABILITY

You don’t have to be the fastest rider to make the biggest impact. What matters most is a willingness to guide, encourage, and mentor youth. We need experienced riders and those still growing in skill. We’ll provide the training. We’ll provide the support. You bring the commitment. Together, we build a stronger team.

PRACTICE GROUPS

NICA and the Utah League require at least 1 Ride Leader for every 6 athletes. Riders are grouped by ambition, skill, and pace. We need leaders for both DEVO (Grades 7–8) and High School (Grades 9–12).

Team size is directly tied to Ride Leader commitment. If we don’t meet the required ratio, we limit roster spots—or cancel practice. Even one day per week makes a difference. Every Ride Leader matters.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A RIDE LEADER

  • 18+ years old
  • NICA Level 2 Coach Certification (prior to June 1)
  • Positive, encouraging, growth-minded
  • Available for three high school practices per week or two DEVO practices per week (June–October, flexibility built in)
  • This isn’t about being the fastest rider. It’s about being intentional, present, and committed to the team.
